ConGlobal Industries, Inc. Battles Snow Storm in Chicago
ConGlobal Industries, Inc. announces that its Forest View and Channahon locations will be closed Wednesday, February 2nd, due to the massive snow storm that is hitting the Midwest and Northeast. Today is the first day that ConGlobal Chicago has closed for a full day due to weather in its 30 year history.
ConGlobal Chicago has taken extreme measures to ensure the security and integrity of our customers’ equipment during this snow storm. Skeleton crews were on-hand last night and will be on-location again today to maintain security at our locations. Stacked containers are blocked or pyramid stacked to prevent them from topping over due to 70mph wind gust. No customer equipment has been lost during the storm.
In an effort to resume operations as quickly as possible, ConGlobal Chicago has been using company equipment to salt and plow the snow at the facilities since last night and will continue to do so throughout today. We anticipate having the Forest View and Channahon locations open on Thursday, February 3rd with skeleton crews. Mobile repair operations will resume as soon as railroad systems are operational.
Forecasters are calling this snow storm as the third-largest to hit the city of Chicago since 1930. Snow accumulations reached 20 inches with more snow expected today. The winds have created snow drifts of five to seven feet and overnight temperatures are expected to fall below 5 degrees with wind chills of minus 30. Both O’Hare and Midway airports are closed today and most railroads are also closed.
