ConGlobal Industries, Inc. Offers Real-time Handheld Service
(San Ramon, California, March 18, 2011) – ConGlobal Industries, Inc. introduces a new Handheld Service for steamship and leasing companies as part of its Depot Services portfolio. The Handheld Service offers customers the ability to receive real-time repair estimates with EDI capabilities via a web portal. In the current tight inventory environment, real-time repair estimates allow customers the ability to view and approve repairs in a timely manner and improve turn-time and equipment utilization. The Handheld Service uses a Depot Management System that leverages web based technology with robust, built-in maintenance and repair intelligence. Customers can access their estimates via a secure web portal to view and approve estimates, increasing the speed and accuracy of customer approvals. ConGlobal developed this service in conjunction with Newport Systems, Inc., an information technology company that helps intermodal companies with comprehensive information systems and customized services. Newport Systems provides the technical infrastructure for the Depot Management System and allows customers, like ConGlobal, to customize it for their specific use. “ConGlobal’s Handheld Service will allow our customers to quickly make repair decisions with confidence,” said Mike Baldwin, president of ConGlobal Industries. “Customers need real-time information on which equipment to repair in order to get the equipment back into service as soon as possible.” The Handheld Service is currently available in ConGlobal’s Oakland and Los Angeles depots and is receiving great responses from customers.
